1839 to 1865

1840 to 1890s

Albumen Print
1850 to 1920
Most widely used from 1855 to 1895. Silver image within an albumen (egg whitened) binder on the thin paper support uniform gloss purple-brown, red-colored-brown or yellow-brown hue.
Ambrotype
1855 to 1865
Most widely used at the end of 1850s. Silver image inside a collodion binder with an opaque glass support usually enveloped.
Tintype
1856 to 20′s
Most widely used in 1860s. Silver image inside a collodion binder on the thin sheet of lacquered iron some cased, usually in paper mats dull grey with creamy whitened highlights.

Carbon Print
1860s to nineteen forties
